Rehearsal Etiquette
The North Port Chorale has a goal of becoming more and more professional each concert, and a certain level of commitment is assumed when membership is established. Regular attendance at rehearsals is expected, as is practice of words and music during the week.
At each rehearsal, bring your music – and a soft #2 pencil to make notes if necessary. We only have two hours to rehearse: please listen to Pat, watch her, and give her your undivided attention. If someone you know is or will be absent, please let the Section Leader know.
Performance Etiquette
Please refrain from wearing heavy cologne or after-shave. Ladies, no chunky earrings or bracelets, or “loud” nail polish. Please wear only the approved jewelry (pearl necklace).
When that curtain opens, and you are seated, make sure that your two feet are firmly placed in front of you – no crossed ankles or legs! Your black concert folder should be in your lap, closed. Your music will already be in chronological order because you put it there. Do not chat with your neighbor. And it goes without saying that there should be no chewing gum in your mouth!
Our goal as performers is to look and act professional. Our audience has paid to watch us act that way. We want to show them that not only do we sing beautifully, we act that way, too
Tickets
Members are strongly encouraged to sell tickets in the community and also to post flyers. Most neighborhood restaurants, supermarkets and community centers are happy to put them up for us. If each member sells 10 tickets, it will ensure a successful concert. Tickets are available from the Assistant Treasurer or Russ in advance of the concert.
Be a supporter of the Performing Arts in the City of North Port!
Donations may be tax deductable; Please consult your tax professional for specific details. We have a scale: Friend $10-49; Patron $50-99, and Benefactor $100 on up. Donations are especially welcome prior to our major concerts, and donors’ names are listed on the program – with our gratitude and thanks. If you know of friends, family or corporate contacts that might be willing to invest in our Chorale, please contact a member of the Board.
Committees
Please get involved and join a committee. You will get to know some very nice people and help the Chorale in a big way. See a Board member about any of these committees that interest you.
